Rev. Jim Bland talked about the grace of God in the life of King David. He was known as a man with a heart for God. It is remarkable how closely our lives tend to parallel that of David. We see this in the choosing of David by God, his empowerment for service, as well as David’s brokenness, repentance and restoration. Remembering God’s gracious dealing with David should motivate us to be obedient men and women, after God’s own heart.

After living in the belly of the large fish for three days, in a hopeless situation, God intervenes a second time and Jonah experiences firsthand the cry of his heart. This salvation was given to Jonah and is available to us as well.

Four thoughts on what it will take for Jonah … and for each of us! * Jonah’s Plight * Jonah’s Relationship with God Confirmed * Jonah’s Rescue * Jonah’s Response

Jonah’s running from God has come to an end and resulted in an unlikely place of Refuge, a three-day Shelter, marinating inside the stomach gastric juices of a large fish. And the comforting truth of this story is that God had Jonah exactly right where He wanted him. It was God’s Grace that brought this fish to swallow Jonah as he sank down deep into the waters; It was God’s Grace and merciful fatherly love that brought this respite of discipline. Come journey with us as we take a look at God’s use of Correction for Jonah and for us…simply because He is passionately in love with us!
